Welcome to Amiko. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Amiko mobile application (the "App") provided by Amiko AI ("we," "our," or "us"). By accessing or using Amiko, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

Apple App Store Users

For apps distributed through the Apple App Store, you also agree to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement (EULA):

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using any part of the Amiko service, you accept and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.

2. Description of Service

Amiko is an AI-powered language learning application that provides:

Interactive roleplay conversations with AI characters
Speech recognition and pronunciation practice
Vocabulary learning and translation tools
Personalized learning experiences
Progress tracking and language assessment

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 9 years old to use Amiko. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. Users under 18 should have parental or guardian consent.

4. Account Registration

Amiko does not require account registration or personal information. The app works entirely locally on your device:

No Registration Required: You can start using Amiko immediately without creating an account
No Personal Data: We do not collect names, email addresses, or any personally identifiable information
Local Data Only: All your conversations, learning progress, and preferences are stored locally on your device
Anonymous Analytics: We only collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the app

5. Acceptable Use

When using Amiko, you agree NOT to:

Use the App for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems or user accounts
Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Use automated scripts or bots to interact with the service
Upload or transmit malicious code, viruses, or harmful content
Harass, abuse, or harm other users or our AI systems
Circumvent any usage limitations or payment requirements
Violate any applicable laws or regulations

6. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of Amiko, including but not limited to:

App design, interface, and graphics
AI-generated conversations and learning content
Character designs and storylines
Software code and algorithms
Trademarks, logos, and branding

are owned by Amiko AI and protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7. User-Generated Content

Local Processing: You retain complete ownership of all content you create (conversation messages, voice recordings)
No Data Transmission: Your content is processed locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers
Privacy Protection: We do not access, store, or share your conversations or voice recordings
Anonymous Analytics: We may use anonymized and aggregated usage data for research and development purposes only
Responsibility: You are responsible for the content you generate and must comply with all applicable laws

8. Subscription and Payments

8.1 Free and Premium Features

Amiko offers both free features with limitations and premium subscription options
Premium subscriptions provide unlimited conversations, voice practice, and advanced features
Subscription terms and pricing are displayed in the App and may vary by region

8.2 Billing and Renewals

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled before the renewal date
You will be charged through your Apple App Store or Google Play Store account
Prices are subject to change with advance notice
Refunds are handled according to App Store or Play Store policies

8.3 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your device's subscription settings
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period
No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods

9. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Important Notice: Amiko uses artificial intelligence to generate conversational content locally on your device. While we strive for accuracy:

Local Processing: AI responses are generated locally and may occasionally contain errors or inaccuracies
Educational Purpose: Language suggestions should be verified with qualified language experts
Cultural Context: Cultural and contextual nuances may not always be perfectly represented
Learning Supplement: The App is designed for educational purposes and should supplement, not replace, traditional language learning
Privacy First: All AI processing happens locally on your device - no data is sent to external AI services

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW:

Amiko is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind
We do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or secure service
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages
Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the past 12 months
We are not responsible for third-party content, services, or AI processing results

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Amiko AI, its affiliates, and personnel from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

Your use of the App
Your violation of these Terms
Your infringement of any third-party rights
Content you submit or generate through the service

12. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes through:

In-App Notifications: Updates will be shown within the app
Website Updates: Updates to this page with a revised "Last Updated" date

Continued use of Amiko after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

13. Termination

Since Amiko operates locally on your device:

No Account Termination: There are no accounts to suspend or terminate
App Removal: You may remove the app from your device at any time
Data Deletion: When you delete the app, all your data is immediately removed from your device
No Server Data: We do not store any of your data on our servers

Upon app deletion, your right to use Amiko ceases immediately and all your data is removed from your device.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Amiko AI is registered
Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in courts of competent jurisdiction
You waive any right to participate in class-action lawsuits

16. Severability
